Children and Hearing Loss

The earlier a child is diagnosed with hearing loss the earlier treatment can begin. Younger ears need special care and we are committed to providing the most up-to-date hearing solutions to make it as easy as possible for you to help your child.

We have extensive experience in finding the finest solutions that suit a wide range of children's hearing loss. As a parent your involvement is paramount and together we make sure that your child can enjoy the world of sound in a relaxed and friendly environment.

State-of-the-Art Test Rooms

Your child will initially be referred for hearing care by a qualified surgeon or physician. A full case history is discussed, and Audiological tests, if not already performed, take place in our state of the art Paediatric test rooms.

Children's Hearing Aid Fittings

The results are then discussed with you and if necessary hearing management for both now and for the future. We discuss in full the hearing aids and how they will provide the best communication systems for your child's educational and language acquisition needs.

Occasionally we can fit hearing aids that can be taken away with you on the day but generally we require a minimum of five days between assessment and fitting. The time-line of a typical hearing aid fitting is as follows:

Hearing Aid Fittings

  1. Assessment
  2. Fitting
  3. Review and fine-tune at two weeks
  4. Second review and fine-tune at four weeks
  5. Final review at three months
